What is Passive Fire Protection

Passive fire protection (PFP) is a component of fire protection that focuses on reducing the spread of fire using fire rating construction and materials.

Contains and slows the spread of the fire to the compartment of fire origin

Slows the heating of structural members

Prevents the spread of fire through intentional openings & penetrations
